DESCRIPTION Sterling silver thimble made by HenryGriffith & Sons of Leamington Spa to commemorate the coronation of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II in 1953. Daisy pattern top over a reeded border with the letters ER (for Elizabeth Regina) separated by a representation of the Coronation Crown.Hallmarked on the flat turn over rim: 14 (the size), H.G&S (for Henry Griffith & Sons), the Birmingham Assay Office anchor mark , the lion passant for sterling silver, the date letter script "D" for 1953 and the special Queen's Head mark. In excellent condition. Height approx. 2.1 cm; internal base diameter approx 1.5 cm; weight 4.9 grams.
