An attractive moulded pressed glass comport made to commemorate the Golden Jubilee of Queen Victoria in 1887. It has a bucket shaped bowl, with a scalloped rim on a small ribbed stem and domed foot. It has been pressed in a three piece mould with a stippled design encircling the outside of the bowl, and has Maltese crosses alternating with spearheads and below the text "Jubilee of Queen Victoria 1837-1887". Although these souvenirs were mass produced this is one of the more uncommon items of commemorative wear, and i have only been able to find reference to this from the Powerhouse Museum in Sydney (exhibit A6691). Measures.H. 13.8cm, D. 14.5cm. Condition: Excellent, no chips, cracks or fleabites. /collection/database/?irn=187365
