An interesting Victoriansterling silver pickle fork. It is hallmarked for Birmingham 1896 with themaker’s marks being M BROS for the Mitchell Brothers. It has been unusually design having its terminal in the form of the royal coat of arms along with the motto and initials VR. It was made as a souvenir piece to mark the 1896 diamond jubilee of Queen Victoria. You do see souvenir spoons but seldom pickle forks. It is in super condition being free from dings splits distortions and repairs. It measures a touch under 5.5 inches (13.5cms) long and weighs 10 grams. By no means the largest most robust example but a rare survivor.
