A Large and Impressive Table Cake Knife with English Fully Hallmarked Sterling Silver Handle in the Royal Queens Pattern - Matches Tiffany English King - for the famous London grocers Fortnum & Mason, founded 1707
You are bidding on a decorative and impressive large formal Table Cake Knife - perfect for a wedding - with an English Hallmarked Sterling Silver handle fully double-struck in the famous "Queens" pattern, which matches Tiffany "English King", in mint unused condition. This is the Georgian flatware pattern of royal quality and association known as "Queens" or "Rosette" which became associated with Queen Victoria and was later copied by Tiffany and called "English King". This was made in the English provincial city of Sheffield noted for fine cutlery, by craftsmen silversmiths for Fortnum & Mason, the famous London firm of grocers by appointment to the British Royal family. The handle bears full English sterling silver hallmarks. The blade is stainless steel and is marked as illustrated in the photograph below with the famous Fortnum's sign of the clock with two Georgian figures looking down on Piccadilly, London.
