3 1920’s Quezal Pulledfeather Green/Gold/Calcite Bell-flower art glass shades.

A matched set with Mint Green pulled feather leaf designs, trimmed with Iridescent Gold borders, over White Calcite Ruffled scallop bases, the gold interiors have a reddish-orange iridescence. As handmade glass, color varies slightly. The shades are 4 7/8" tall, have 3” base openings, with the standard 2 1/4" fitter rim each engraved inside with the Early 1920’s Quezal with the decorative scroll from the Q to under the u. Usually with plain bottom rims these have the rare Bell-shape with scalloped ruffle as if to represent petals, and when combined with the green pulled feather leaf design are the perfect examples of the Art Nouveau Movement and the floral-inspired motif of that period.

The Lady, from whom these come, has memories of them spanning five or six decades as they were removed from a table lamp that had become unsteady, replaced with generic shades and then stored in a decorative box to be enjoyed as a Family heirloom, that passed to an Aunt then on to her. Luckily they have not been cleaned from before removal through their entire storage. In no way are they damaged, no cracks or chips, and minor surface markings should clean-up with soap and water. Clearly they have Carbon rings around the fitter rims, these represent the use of early 1900 Light bulbs. Cleaning of all Collectibles should be carefully considered as certain characteristics are favorable to a piece, and frequently someone washes or polishes away value!

The find that comes around only once. Created at the inception of the light bulb, their purpose was to dynamically screen the harsh light of original bulbs. Thanks to someone that has experienced them through time; we are able to present their unique attributes of illumination in a room with varying brightness. Review the pictures of one lit when the background lighting is bright, then dimly lit, and dark.

Their ability to dramatically transform the mood of a room and the Quezal signature make them the prize antique, and the selection of the right lamp or drop makes enhancing any décor easy. We encourage everyone with questions to ASK.
