This is a D. R. Barton No. 8 Straight Gouge 3/4 Inch Wood Carving Chisel Tool This nice Barton Wood Carving Chisel is 9 inches long with a 3/4-inch-wide No. 8 Straight Gouge blade. The hand-turned Fruitdwood handle is in very good condition with nice wood grain, typical light signs of use, and nice lacquer finish. The steel blade is shiny clean with a sharp edge ready to fine hone and put to work. It is marked with the "D.R. Barton" logo on the blade. It came in a group of superb Addis, Marples, and other British maker wood carving chisels I recently acquired from a working woodshop that I am listing in March. A stellar Wood Chisel made from fine quality steel by a superb chisel-maker for serious wood carving. My chisels are always in clean, sharp, ready-to-use condition without damaged wood handles that you'd have to repair. So be careful of some shark-like tool sellers on eBay who would have you pay higher prices for lower quality wood chisels.
