Here is an old Chaplin's patent smoothing plane, no. 3 size. As you can see in the pictures, the stud for the knob is broken off - the crater does not extend through the bottom of the toe, and the knob is missing. There is also a piece chipped of the shoulder. The body measures 8 3/8" long, 2 1/8" wide, and the iron is 1 3/4" wide. There is very little plating left on the parts. The iron handle, lever cap, adjusting lever, and the backing plate for the iron are all in good condition. Packages will generally be shipped the next day after payment, sometimes the same day, and once in a while 2 days after. E-mail for more pics or any questions.
