A RENE LALIQUE CLEAR, FROSTED AND SEPIA STAINED GLASS PERFUME BOTTLE âeoeTROIS GUEPESâe
DESIGNED FOR MAISON LALIQUE AND INTRODUCED CIRCA 1912 Up for a bid this extremely rare perfume bottle designed by Rene Lalique for Maison Lalique circa 1912: âeoeTrois Guepesâe, highly important and unusual, rarely seen for sale or for auction and always sought after by any collector of the finest perfume presentations. The clear glass bottle of water-like transparency with a simple shape of six vertical panels, has two wasps molded in full relief at the shoulder and another as stopper ( Marcilhac No. 498 ). Original sepia stain on the recesses. Signed engraved in script R. LALIQUE FRANCE NO. 498. Matching control numbers J 25 inscribed on the bottle and the stopper. Height 4 3/4 in. ( 12 cm. ). Some conditions noted: part of the bottle neckâe(tm)s rim and the tail in one wasp have been professionally restored at the highest standard. The bottle displays magnificently and hardly you see the previous defects. It has been priced accordingly to be sold. One in perfect condition for sale at Sothebyâe(tm)s New York in December 1998 fetched 8625.00 USD. An extremely rare perfume bottle and in very good display condition. No many records have been found of this very rare bottle, ranked rarity 1 and value A in the Uttâe(tm)s book.
