This is a vintage J.R. Torrey & Co. Worcester, MA, US, Shave Ready Straight Razor with arrow insignia and manufacturers info on the tang. . This blade is 5/8" with a 2 7/8" edge and full hollow ground. A very good shaving instrument and will hold its edge well. This has a spike point, the pin is tight, bright and shiny, the scales are original cream colour bakelite with patterned design and the blade has a mirror finish on both sides with some dark spots. This is a late 19th to early 20th century razor in fine condition and shave ready. This blade has a unique spine with top and bottom jimps for gripping and maneuverability. A sign of real quality. You can see the edge at 200 power. Diamond honed to 0.49 micron(30,000grit), then diamond paste stropped to 0.1 micron(200,000 grit).
