2 DOLLARS SILVER COIN - LUNAR YEAR OF THE RABBIT - PAW PRINT - PITCAIRN ISLANDS 2011 YEAR OF THE RABBIT - PAW PRINT VERY BEAUTIFUL AND ORIGINAL DESIGN AND COIN CASE The Rabbit, or Hare as referred to in Chinese mythology, is the emblem of longevity and is said to derive their essence from the Moon. This particular coin is issued to celebrate the Year of the Rabbit which begins on February 3, 2011 and ends on January 22, 2012, according to the Chinese Lunar-Zodiac. This 2011 The coin is issued by struck from 1oz of 99.9% pure silver and is legal tender of the Government of Pitcairn Island. On coin obverse a colour printed image of a Rabbit in the snow within a northern Europe winter scene. This image signifies determination (ability to survive in the harsh winter climate), a character trait of people born under Year of the Rabbit. The engraved Chinese symbol for year of the rabbit signifies an earthly branch. On the obverse the Raphael Maklouf effigy of Her Majesty the Queen Elizabeth II sovereign of the commonwealth of the Pitcairn Islands .
