VINTAGE INTAGLIO PENDANT THE BEST OF THE BEST!!! This is a finely rendered reverse carved and reverse painted vintage glass intaglio of two wonderful horse heads. It features the heads of the horse with a beautiful clean white background. The details in this piece are amazing!!! You can see the eyes, nose and even the bridles as this piece is so clearly carved and painted. This is a great vintage intaglio piece. This is a very rare piece featuring two horse heads of this size, and the details on it cannot be captured by the photograph. This is a 20mm glass intaglio piece carved and hand painted in West Germany in the 1940's. It has a table top finish and beveled edges and is set in a newer ornate turtle style decorative gold colored brass setting, finished with a gold colored filigree decorative ball. This is a rare and great old piece. It is a very old vintage glass piece, and makes a very unique piece of jewelry. These cabachons were sometimes called intaglios, rosettes, reverse crystals or "Cabs". They date back to the 1940's and 1950's and are considered to be extremely rare and highly collectible. These "cabs" or cabachons contain intaglio images or scenes. Each piece was hand painted into a reverse carved image. These amazing pieces of art were first manufactured during the Victorian era.
