is a set of 27 pieces of blue and white Wedgwood dishes, cups and saucers from Radcliffe College . These are from my cousin's house, she graduated from Radcliffe in 1934 (back in the days when women couldn't go to Harvard, they went to Radcliffe). T are 9 plates measuring just a little over 8 ½ inches. All are signed on the back Radcliffe College 1934 with the Wedgwood mark which reads "Wedgwood of Etruria & Barlaston Made in England ", and the importers mark which reads "Sole Importers Jones McDuffee & Stratton Co. Boston" with picture of a lion? Holding a globe? Also t is an incised mark that reads Wedgwood and numbers. Four of the plates depict Longfellow Hall and five of the plates depict Fay House. T are 9 saucers which have written on the bottoms " Radcliffe College 1934 Library, Agassiz House & Gymnasium Wedgwood Barlaston England " plus the importer's mark. The design on the saucers is flowers and a crest and diamond pattern blue color design (same as border of the larger plates). T are 9 cups which show the buildings mentioned on the saucers. This set is excellent, looks like it was never used. Rare? I have no idea. These would be great for the Harvard Radcliffe or Boston or Cambridge , Massachusetts collector. Makes a great gift for the graduate or alumnus. We accept Priority shipping is $20 in two boxes (priority w/tracking), insurance which is highly suggested, is extra. Can also be picked up north of Boston or along route 95 between Saugus , MA and Bangor , ME.
