This Radio Craftsmen tube amplifier comes from a friend’s estate. I think he may have used it in the beginning of his audiophile hobby, but probably stored it early in the age of stereo. It is clean and complete, and amazingly, it still works. The metal cabinet is included but not pictured. It is a Monaural control amplifier, model CA-11. The output tubes are 6V6’s. All of the tubes are made by RCA, and they might be original. When I tested it , the high level input worked the best—sounded strong. The mag phono input sounded very weak, and the mag phono input jack seemed corroded, twisting the plug made the sound come and go. All of the controls are scratchy and need to be treated with an oxidation remover. The amplifier sounded good playing through my Altec speaker (Well, don’t they all). This cute little amplifier might be a great basis for a restoration project. Guaranteed not D.O.A. This is a very low powered amplifier and can be used only with efficient speakers.
