F.B. RADOM M 1922 (WZ 22) POLISH MAUSER BAYONET WITH SCABBARD
If you would like to research this bayonet you can find it listed in KIESLING, VOLUME I, ENTRY #130, and in JANZEN'S NOTEBOOK, PAGE 160, ENTRY #1. This auction is for a unaltered pre-WWII F.B. Radom Bayonet for the Polish Mauser rifle. It's in a solid dent free scabbard. Everything is in excellent condition, albeit with some signs of storage and age. T is no abuse. When the German military overran Poland in 1939, they captured tons of Polish weaponry and other military material. The German's converted those items over to their purposes, but they never got their hands on this particular bayonet for if they had the muzzle ring would have been removed and the bayonet would have been given a blued finish to conform with German military requirements, as happened to the overwhelming majority of M 1922 Polish Mauser Bayonets. These bayonets were never common to begin with. The intact muzzle ring and the original bright finish are factors that further contribute to the scarcity of this particular bayonet. The general excellent condition of this bayonet makes me think that it was never issued, or if itwas issued, it very likely spent most of the war years in its scabbard. Condition: Unsharpened blade. Factory crisp edges in the metalwork. No pitting. No dings or dents. Nearly new looking grips. Cross Guard stamped with the number 46. T is minor discoloration on the pommel, bits of dried cosmoline in various places, and a few dark specks and t The pommel is solid with a good spring, latch, and mount/dismount button. This bayonet was manufactured without a flash guard. Blade Markings: Strong F.B. RADOM and W.P. legend on the obverse and reverse of the ricasso, with a faint Polish Eagle above the W.P. Scabbard: Marked 7654 above a script lower-case letter "h" on the stud side, and S/155G on the reverse side. The scabbard has no dents or dings and is of the original style and type for this bayonet, but it may very likely be from a country other than Poland, I just don't know. This is a excellent unaltered example of a scarce WWII Polish M 1922 (WZ 22) RADOM made bayonet. You must be minimum 18 years of age to participate in this auction.
