This kit uses my latest design incorporating metal drive pulleys and sealed ball bearings on broom shaft for long service life and efficient operation.　 Here's the way to make the clean-up of your track a bit easier and focus on the pleasure of running your trains, not on the extra chores of cleanups, all at an affordable　price.　 Designed to attach to standard G-scale flat-cars, drop-center cars, gondolas (with modifications to front panel - instructions are included) or your favorite M-O-W car or small dedicated locomotive, this kit will become one of the most useful additions to your layout. You will see how much easier the nuisance of keeping your rails free of small twigs, pine needles, pine cones and general debris can be....your maintenance crew can sit back and start enjoying what was once a tedious chore. The track broom spins at a constant speed; you vary the track speed of your locomotive as needed to provide light or heavy cleaning. The Rail Broom Kit does the rest!! If you are using track power, push your new Rail Broom ahead of your rail cleaner car for　single-pass cleanups. THE easy way to clear your track, whether you are using on-board battery power or track power. You'll find this especially useful for those hard-to-reach areas beneath/behind shrubs, sized to pass thru bridges and tunnels, etc. Use your choice of 7.2~12 volt rechargeable batteries to provide　economical operation. I show some lo-cost battery recommendations in the instructions. The motor and pulleys are sized so as to provide the best combination of brush speed and reliability, while keeping the need for battery recharging to a minimum. Optimum efficiency is achieved with brush extended to just contact rail tops - the air turbulence will aid in moving most of the debris from between the rails. Twigs, pine needles, etc., laying across rails are then whisked out of the way, helping prevent derailments.
