RAILROAD CHINA BANGOR & AROOSTOOK LG SERVING BOWL HUGE!
Up for auction this week is a rare, vintage triple salad / mixing bowl in the Adobe Stripes "AROOSTOOK" pattern mfg by Syracuse China. This was a stock pattern used by the Bangor & Aroostook Railroad & was never RR backstamped. This particular piece is rarely seen & the last time I saw one for sale on Ebay was over 4 years ago in August 2003! Pattern reference pg 103 Luckin's Dining on Rails "BAR-1 AROOSTOOK".
Bowl is in excellent condition. No chips, cracks or crazing. Shiny glaze surface & just a few stray dots of color & glaze pimples/dimples done during manufacture. Tan Adobe body with Brown & rust/orange stripes. Nearly identical to the Illinois Central Green Diamond pattern, but minus one stripe. Bowl measures a whopping 9 1/2" across top & sits 3 5/8" high. Marked on bottom with the Adobe Ware Syracuse China USA mark in brown & date coded 1-FF (1951). Auction is for the bowl only - pictured with the little cup just for size comparison. Would make a great addition to any Syracuse Adobe Ware Stripe china collection, Bangor & Aroostook Railroad dining car china collection or even for the Illinois Central Green Diamond collector until another came along.
DON'T MISS OUT!! DON'T WAIT ANOTHER 4+ YEARS BEFORE ANOTHER ONE SHOWS UP - BID EARLY OR USE THE BUY-IT-NOW IF STILL AVAILABLE.
