Crossing Bell

This is an excellent condition Railroad Crossing Bell. This particular one comes from the Central Division . (CNOTP- Cincinatti, New Orleans & Texas Pacific) Powers right up and has good volume and Ringing tone. It was made by Safetran out of Louisville, KY. It will power up with a 12 volt battery (or two 6volt lantern batteries). You can also purchase an adaptor or convertor to power it up from an ac outlet.

Bells in this condition have sold for upwards of 250-300 dollars. They are getting hard to find.

The bell works fine. This piece of equipment was taken out of service to upgrade to electronic bell. It was in Service for years and like all railroad equipment, had to be in good working condition always. I will answer any questions to the best of my ability. It is quite big and heavy. It measures 18.5 inches tall , and 14 inches wide . It weighs about 29 LBS. It mounts on a 5.5 inch vertical pipe (not included). It is made out of cast aluminum. The back opens for easy access to wiring. T are instructions and schematic diagram on the inside of the back door (see picture). Both the inside and outside are clean. Would be great for a collector. Installed around a bar or garage, or just a neat conversation piece. This bell is in the condition it was when taken out of service. It will be sold as is, but you can bid with confidence. These are becoming harder to find.
