Up for auction are two railroad hammers. The first is a locomotive inspection hammer. This hammer was specifically designed for the inspection of steam locomotives. The head is a standard 5 1/8 long and the handle is 10 3/4 long. Handle is marked in 1" increments for checking brake cyclinder travel. T are a few chips in the head and on the end of the handle. Still a fine example of a tool from days gone by. This one was probably made by an apprentice machinist. The second hammer is a fairmont pennsylvania railroad hammer. This was my grandfathers and has been in my family for atleast 50+ years. This hammer has a 12' handle. Thanks for looking.
