This is a one and only, original color pencil and ink drawing, 8 1/2x11, by noted Railroad artist, Harlan Hiney. It is titled "Pacific Electric BIG RED CARS, Santa Ana River, 1940s", subject- "L.A. Bound #1219 on Trestle" and mounted securely in a clip-on glass frame. The detail, technique and subject of this Red Car moving over a wooden trestle with beautiful, blue, swirling skies above are brilliant!! Harlan's interests and subjects of his work were not just the great iron horses of the railroad but all motorized vehicles that rode the rails including rail cars, steam or electric. He also has a passion for the history of the southern California area.

This drawing along with others was stored in a boot box in a dark closet and was never displayed by an estate in Ventura County, California. T are no stains, yellowing, wrinkles or marks on any of these drawings. I will include a Harlan Hiney written and signed description of the work. Mr. Hiney's works of paintings and illustrations have been on the cover of many railroad books, hung on the walls of railroad museums and companies, and adorned greeting cards. A large Harlan Hiney railroad painting from this small Estate collection sold for $4,385 earlier this year. I know of only 8 of these fantastic, original drawings that were purchased from a small antique shop in West Los Angeles which were on consignment from Harlan Hiney. 8 were purchased by this estate and 3 are now up for auction. The other five will remain with the family of the estate.

This drawing is signed on the front by the artist. This drawing was mounted and secured in a nice clip-on glass frame by the artist. The frame is signed on the back. This work is brighter, warmer and richer in person. Email me with any questions regarding this drawing. This work is part of a small Estate collection. Please view my other auction listings from this estate and check my Ebay feeback for guaranteed authenticity. This is a LOW RESERVE auction; tfore, a great opportunity to obtain a really nice, one-of-kind collectible from a noted and well known railroad artist at fair market value. Good luck and bid often!!
