Item Description

This listing includes a cast iron railroad signal pole finial (pinnacle) and a railroad lantern frame. Nothing else shown in the picture is part of this listing. Please note that these items will ship in separate boxes and the shipping calculator reflects total shipping cost.

The finial is painted black and silver and is in good overall condition. Its approximate dimensions are 23" tall, 5 & 3/4" diameter opening, 9" diameter of widest part, and approximately 30 pounds in weight. It is not cracked or broken anyw that I can see. It has a number molded into the metal but it is difficult to make out all the characters.

The lantern is a Dietz Vesta from the New York Central Railroad. It has a nice strike of the railroad name and a service date of 2-27 in the brim. The globe and fount are not included. It is in good overall straight condition and has been painted gray. I see no evidence of rust anyw on the body.

My Selling Practices

Please note that the item I have photographed and listed is the exact item that the winning bidder will receive. I have never, and will never use bait & switch tactics in my listings. In addition, I always pack my items well regardless of what the final auction price is. In many cases, I have the items packed before the auction ends. I weigh my items carefully and make my best effort to make sure that the shipping calculator reflects accurate shipping costs. I generally do not end my auctions early; however, I reserve the right to do so for lack of interest. I will not end this auction at the request of bidders or prospective bidders for early sale. This auction is open to anyone however potential bidders with no feedback or private feedback must contact me for my approval prior to bidding.

Please ask any questions that you would like. Thanks for looking.

I have been asked if it is possible to purchase just the finial and not the lantern. The answer is yes. If the ending price of the auction is over $50.00, I will offer a deduct of $20.00 or 10% of the ending auction price, whichever is more if the winning bidder does not want the lantern. The shipping fee is based on both items so tfore I will also refund any resultant shipping overpayment if the winning bidder chooses not to take the lantern. Thanks for your interest.
