An original watercolor/ gouache on paper by famous American artist Otto August Kuhler 1894-1977, entitled, "The DeWitt Clinton, Mohawk & Hudson RR, 1851."
The watercolor is in a custom frame of weathered barn lumber and is in excellent condition with new non-reflective glass which replaced the original glass. Kuhler's work is displayed in well-known Museums such as the National Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C., and his works are being sold at major auction houses. He was a master at drawing trains. We acquired this watercolor along with a companion piece, also being sold, from an important New York Estate. The frame and mat measure 22 1/4" width by 21" height, the visible art 14 1/4" width by 12" height. The piece is signed in pencil in the lower right hand corner
