Who knows, you may purchase the next $100 million masterpiece. Biography of Victor Figol Victor Figol was born in Lviv, in 1958. He grew up and finished high school in the same city. In 1975 he began studies at the Lviv College of Decorative and Applied Art named after I. Trush, one of the oldest art educational institutions in Ukraine. In 1978 he began studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Lviv. He graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in 1985. Nowadays he lives and works in Lviv, Ukraine - lovely place with all its beautiful places that inspires him to create. For many years he was experimenting with different techniques and mediums. He also worked in sculpture and ceramics, but now he concentrates on oil painting . He was 10 years old when his parents had presented him an oil painting set. This gift strengthened his desire to paint. From that time Victor Figol explores the color, light, space, composition, shade and cast shade. His paintings are simple and exquisite at the same time. All his artworks awake the personal and the deepest: memories, dreams. Each of his paintings brings different mood, colors and emotions. Victor Figol puts his heart and soul into the paintings he creates with the passion and love for art. Throughout his career he has learned much from reading about the great masters. (Some of his favorite painters are the Abstract Expressionists). He has also copied their works, experimented with their various painting techniques and methods. Victor Figol uses oil on canvas to create his expressive pieces of art. His works are often bold in their use of color and brushstrokes.
