A few years back, a friend of mine and I stumbled across a particularly exquisite vein of Rainbow Obsidian in Northern California which, in many professional opinions, rivals and often tops the Rainbow Obsidian found in Jalisco, Mexico. It is a lot of back-breaking labor to get these boulders out of the ground but the material is so colorful that even the pictures I've been taking are practically works of art in and of themselves. Keep in mind that this is a relatively small vein we are working and will undoubtedly end eventually. Tfore, t is a LIMITED SUPPLY of this material. Get it while it lasts. General Information : You've seen those amazing Rainbow Obsidian carvings, sps, cabochons, knives, arrowheads, and jewelery pieces on the market, most of which have been produced from lesser quality material than what I am offering. Now is your chance to get your hands on some serious, high-quality, rough material. With these large pieces you have a lot of options, be it making hundreds of small carvings, cabochons, or jewelery pieces, or a few large sculptures or sps. I've seen large Rainbow Obsidian sps and sculptures sell on ebay for thousands of dollars a piece. If you're into the ancient art of knapping, think how many Rainbow Obsidian Knife blades or arrowheads could be made from a single large boulder such as this... I'd like to add that I know how important is is that the structural integrity of this material remains intact, which is why I always try my best to very carefully remove only a thin section in order to display the colors without damaging the rest of the rock. If, on the other hand, making stuff isn't exactly your thing, these are amazing simply as specimens. You can crack them open along the flow bands to produce many nice shards which most often break in the form of a conchoidal fracture which looks like a wave frozen in time. I've never showed this material to anyone who has not been amazed by it when they see the colors come out in the sunlight. The color will never fade, making it an excellent piece to put in a window w it will get sun and be seen. Might I add, I generally give these out during the holidays as presents to my friends and family ;) Shipping details : I start out all of this material at between 2-3$ per pound, depending on size and quality variations. Buyer pays shipping. Anything that will fit into a small USPS priority mail flat rate box will be shipped for $9.80 anyw in the U.S. Anything that will fit into a large USPS priority mail flat rate box will be shipped for $12.95 anyw in the U.S. When possible I will combine items into a single box for cheaper shipping. I do have much larger boulders of the same material on stock which would have to be shipped through special freight services. I do ship internationally, but shipping prices will vary according to location. I always try to accommodate the cheapest, fastest, and safest shipping method for the customer. Also, keep in mind that I will generally not relist an item more than once because after that I'm losing money and might as well keep the piece for myself for future work. Good luck!
