You are bidding on an extremely lightly formerly enjoyed condition hand carved very graceful and sleek "Quarter Bent Apple" shaped pipe, with a rich dark honey amber stained finish, and a rosewood inlay stem trim band, by the German pipe artist Rainer Barbi. Mr. Barbi is considered by most pipe connoisseurs as one of the best pipe carvers in the world. This pipe was carved in June of 1998 (BU stamping). The grade is a "BC". This is one amazing exploitation of a shape in keeping with what the briar had dictated. Rainer really brought forth the best in this bowl's juxtaposition of shape and grain from the block of briar from which he was crafting this pipe! The performance qualities of Barbi pipes are amazing. This is in part due to the perfect engineering that this pipe possesses. (Great balance and hand feel, effortless draft, stem cut nice and thin, a pipe cleaner passes to the bottom of the bowl with ease, and perfectly centered draft hole at the bottom of the bowl.) Please do not miss this amazingly wonderful opportunity! I carefully cleaned, sanitized, rejuvenated, and polished this beautiful pipe both inside and out. The original hand cut vulcanite stem is free from any tooth marks, scratches, or oxidation. All bowl stampings can be easily read. It is ready to deliver immediate enjoyment right out of the box. Here are the dimensions of this beautiful and graceful looking pipe: The length is about 5.75". The bowl height is about 2.0". The tobacco chamber is about 0.825" in diameter and tapers down the bowl's 1.50" inner depth. Capacity is about that of a Group 5 to 6 size Dunhill pipe. This outstanding pipe weighs 41 grams. The black leather pipe bag that is pictured below is included. I think that Rainer Barbi is one of the very best carvers in the world today and he is one of my personal favorite pipe carvers. I got to know Rainer over the years and I greatly admire depth of talent gained from years of pipe making experience along with his strong work ethic. You absolutely will not go wrong with this pipe. In fact, it has to become one of your very favorites! Once again, this is a ( 10 )TEN-DAY( 10 ) no reserve pipe auction. I do not believe in "Reserve" or "Buy it Now" prices.
