Item Photos and Description For your consideration is a Japanese CHADO pictorial book which features a collection of antique masterpieces of Japanese Tea Ceremony Equipment , discusses and illustrates the art and beauty of various tea ceremony tools. This volume focuses on Raku ware Chawan created by Raku-family members through generations from the first head Chojiro to the present 15th Kichizaemon, and by Honami Koetsu . Includes 106 pages of full-color photographs of 51 tea bowls including Chojiro (Daikoku and more), Jokei, Donyu, Ichinyu, Sonyu, Sanyu, Homami Koetsu and more, with 2-4 color photos of the side and bottom (showing KODAI or foot) views of the chawan discussed per facing pages. Also includes a detailed commentary by editors and a list of museums which house the collections at the end of the book. Be aware that the entire text is in Japanese. This softcover book with dust jacket was first published in 2000 by Tankosha to commemorate 50th anniversary of the company's establishment. Measures approx. 210x148mm(8.3x5.8") with 162 full-color illustrated pages.
