Randall Model #11-5 "Alaskan Skinner" 5" Tool Steel Blade Top of Blade Notched for Thumb Placement Single Brass Hilt Model 22 Black Micarta Handle
Brass Crow's Beak Butt Cap Brown-Stitched Sullivan Model A Sheath Correctly Stamped 11 5 Unused Fine India Sharpening Stone Never Used / Never Carried / Never Sharpened Custom Green Canvas and Water Buffalo Hide Carry Case Excellent+++ to Near Mint Condition General information on this model from the Randall site: Model 11 "Alaskan Skinner" -- 4" blade of 3/16" stock, 4 ½"-5" blades of 1/4" stock. 4 1/4"-5/8" leather handle. Brass hilt. Duralumin butt cap. The original drop-point blade. Designed by Tommy Thompson, noted Alaskan guide, in 1952 for big-game skinning, with point dropped below top of blade to prevent cutting too deeply through skins when used point first. Top of blade in front of hilt notched for thumb placement. (Wt. 4"=5-6 oz., 4 ½"-5"=7-8 oz.) My summary: this is a very nice looking Randall model 11 -- a must have for the "Alaskan Skinner" enthusiast. Almost everything is custom -- all but the tool steel blade is special order. All the brass gives some heft to the knife -- it feels nice and heavy in hand. are the details: 5" tool steel blade, single brass hilt, model 22 black micarta handle with the brass crow's beak butt cap. The knife is mint without use of any kind. The sheath is a brown-stitched Sullivan model A that is correctly stamped 11 5 on the back. The brown-stitching accurately dates the package to 1998-1999, as the brown stitching was only used for this short period of time. The knife has been stored in the sheath as evidenced by the dark line at the throat. A few small scuffs elsew on the sheath from being moved around a bit. All minor distractions -- I'm grading the package as excellent+++ to near mint based solely on sheath condition. That said, I still think the brown-stitched sheath is sweeet! As photographed, the handle tie down lanyard is present, and t's a new Fine India sharpening stone in the pouch. Can't say much else -- it's just a gorgeous skinner with about two tons of eye appeal. To round out the package, I've included one of my favorite green canvas and water buffalo hide carry cases. High quality and a very nice finishing touch. The knife will be shipped "out of sheath" in the case -- well protected and secure. The sheath will be carefully wrapped separately. All said and done... i t's one hell of a head-turner and I'm sure you'll love it. Good luck. Flat rate shipping $17.00 -- USPS Priority.
