Randall Model #11-4 "Alaskan Skinner" 4" Stainless Steel Blade Top of Blade Notched for Thumb Placement Single Brass Hilt / Squared on TopVery Uniform, Thick Stag Handle Johnson Roughback Sheath Never Used / Never Carried / Never Sharpened New 100% Cape Buffalo Hide Carry Case Excellent+++ ConditionGeneral information on this model from the Randall site: Model 11 "Alaskan Skinner" -- 4" blade of 3/16" stock, 4 ½"-5" blades of 1/4" stock. 4 1/4"-5/8" leather handle. Brass hilt. Duralumin butt cap. The original drop-point blade. Designed by Tommy Thompson, noted Alaskan guide, in 1952 for big-game skinning, with point dropped below top of blade to prevent cutting too deeply through skins when used point first. Top of blade in front of hilt notched for thumb placement. (Wt. 4"=5-6 oz., 4 ½"-5"=7-8 oz.) My summary: a very, very sweet Randall model 11 with an extremely nice thick stag handle. The entire package is in wonderful condition -- the blade with only a couple of light marks on the non logo side, and the sheath with the only distraction being the storage mark at the throat. is a detailed description of the offering: Randall Model 11 "Alaskan Skinner" with a 4" stainless steel blade notched on top for thumb placement. The knife is fitted with a single brass hilt that's squared on top -- these sure look great. The stag handle is really nice in that it's quite thick and very consistent with respect to shape, texture and color. The stag is perfect without checks or cracks. The sheath is a brown Johnson roughback that is stamped 11 4 on the back. T's a dark line at the throat -- the knife has obviously been stored in the sheath at some point in the past. The back of the sheath looks like new. For safe storage, I've included a brand new green canvas and water buffalo hide carry case. High quality, very durable and really nice looking. The knife will be shipped "out of sheath" in the case -- well protected and secure. All said and done: this is a great one for the collection or one hell of a user.
