From the Randall Catalogue: Model 15 "Airman"5 1/2" blade of 1/4" stock. Top cutting edge sharpened. 4 1/2" Black Micarta handle. (stainless steel blade, sawteeth, forward curved hilt, nickel silver hilt, name etching, name plate are available at additional charge.) Construction same as Model 14 except shorter blade. Comes with standard Black Micarta finger grip handle. (Green micarta handle material available upon request.) Single finger grip and Border Patrol shapes available at additional charge. Designed especially for air crew survival and combat purposes in cooperation with U.S. Marine Corps Equipment Board. (Wt. 10 oz.) I bought this from a local knife shop owner's collection when he closed his shop. I also bought an 18-5 1/2" from him and have it for sale also, check my listings. When I bought these I had forgotten that I already had one of each in my own pile, so we are. The knife and sheath are in better than excellent condition. The only thing I can see on either item are a few bumps and rubs on the back of the sheath; the knife is clean of blemish that I can see. The knife is not brand new, but has not been used, carried, sharpened or even been thought about too hard. It went from the back of one collection to the back of another. The previous owner told me that he had had it for about 4 or 5 years, I've had it for 1, so you do the math. The knife is a basic and fully functional Randall product that is lacking in bells and whistles, but has all the right stuff. These knives were always a favorite of mine, more so than the 14-7 1/2", easier to use and not getting in its own way. These were not designed for wide open spaces, they were for cutting your way out of a downed aircraft, then they became, if necessary, close combat death dealers, one of the favorites for use in the jungles of Viet Nam. I stand behind my knives and guarantee reasonable satisfaction.
