This is what Randall Made Knives says about their Model 12-13 "Raymond Thorp Bowie" -- 13" blade, 1 5/8" wide, of 1/4" stock. Top cutting edge sharpened. 5 1/4" (approximate). Ivorite handle, Brass Double lugged hilt, Scalloped Brass Collar, Scalloped Brass Coolie butt cap. Modeled after design furnished by Raymond W. Thorp, author of The Bowie Knife. Probably the most nearly authentic Bowie type. This knife has a Brass Back Feature once thought to catch your opponents blade during a knife fight. Randall offered this option until the mid 1970's or so. Knife also has JRB Sheath with white Norton stone. This knife was made in the early 70's and is in new condition except for age.
