Dozen White on White Madeira Linen 18 inch Napkins ~ Rare never used set
Exquisite Tiny Scallop Stitch Edges all around, Eyelet Basket, Finest Quality Linen Sometimes you see these lovely napkins in this large size.Sometimes you see a dozen. Almost never do you see them unused. Made of the finest quality heavy Irish linen, these napkins are works of art. The scalloped edge all around is finished in Madeiraâe(tm)s signature scalloped blanket-buttonhole stitch with those precise, minute scallops that are a wonder. The flower baskets in the corner of each napkin are a mix of lovely open eyelet, satin leaf and seed stitches. T are 12 napkins, each 18 inches by 17 ½ inches. I found these at a local estate, all never used with the original polish on the linen. I gently laundered three of them that had storage spots. The remainder are slightly soiled from storing (see contrast picture). The winning bidder has the option to receive them as they are with 9 unwashed (as some collectors prefer), OR I will freshly launder and press all twelve and send them wrapped in acid free tissue. These are from the estate of a vintage Madeira and antique linen collector. Most will be freshly laundered and pressed ~ no starch. Some that are especially delicate, with original tags or potentially more valuable in unwashed condition will be sold as-found and clearly stated in the description. Those items, since all my linens are stored in the same facility, I cannot guarantee as-found linens are completely smoke or odor free. I will state if that smell, or any other such as mold or mothballs, is obvious. I will also point out any stains, holes or worn spots. Shipping, Payment, Returns, Bidding As to shipping, even though I will pack in fresh tissue and, w appropriate, acid free tissue or bubble wrap, I charge only for the actual shipping. I prefer Priority Mail but, if asked, I will ship anyway that may be less expensive. Foreign bidders , please remember to send telephone number as it is required for customs. Returns only if the description is grossly erroneous. If that is the case, and I hope it is not, I will also reimburse shipping. No returns will be made if not reported within three days of delivery and/or if the item has been laundered or interfered with. Bid well and early.
