For your consideration a Victorian Mechanical Orguinette Co. paper roll music box. I recently purchased this item at a local estate sale. I am not an expert on music boxes but will try to describe this one as best as possible. The music box is made of solid walnut. It marked on the front of the top in gold lettering MECHANICAL ORGUINETTE CO - NEW YORK. It has a patent underneath and says PATENTED OCT. 12, 1880. The organ has gold stenciled designs all of the way around and on its parts. I do not know if the organ plays as I do not know how to operate it. It has one large paper roll that comes with it. I think t should have been a board on the very bottom to cover the bellows. T are five bellows underneath and they look to be in good condition. The crank for the bellows still turns and operates aall the bellows. T is a small piece of wood missing off from one side that I have pictured. T is a small hinged door on top of the music box which opens to let the sound out as the paper roll passes over the top of the bellows. This door has a crack in it but pushes together tightly and could be easily glued. The board that this door is hinged to is supposed to be glued to the top of the organ and it has come loose. It is not broken but just needs to be glued back into place. The large rollers at each end of the organ are removable and they have a release lever that locks them into place. The finish on the organ is very nice and original. T is a serial number inside the organ 37892. The organ measures 27" in length by 6 1/2" in height by 15" across at the widest point. I am not sure what if anything is missing. I have pictured all parts of the organ. If you have any questions please feel free to email me and I will gladly answer them or send you more pictures if you need them. Please send your email address along with requests for pictures. A wonderful addition to any music box collection or if you just want to own a great Victorian parlor organ. I am selling this item with no reserve. I do ship USPS Priority Mail however due to shipping costs if you would like the item shipped USPS Parcel Post or UPS ground please email me. I will only charge what the actual shipping costs are. I do accept personal checks but will wait until it clears your bank to ship the item out. Thank you for looking and happy bidding.
