Eldorado bar, which is recognized all over the world, on account of the rich finds of sapphires and other precious gems, one of the earthâe(tm)s great treasure-boxes, is in one of the most picturesque portions of the State, on the north bank of the Missouri River, fifteen miles north of Helena. This bar was discovered in 1864 by prospectors for gold, and so rich were the reports of alluvial deposits in the region round about it that t was a stampede of gold-seekers from all parts of the world to the favored locality...âe.
