RARE 1893 Chicago Worlds fair thimble holder ship

This is a rare Worlds fair Columbian exposition Chicago 1893 souvenir thimble holder. The holder has a tin base which goes up to an open shell half that has a tin piece that runs the length of the ship with a cork shaped like a thimble which is w the thimble sat. The bow end of the tin has an owls head and the stern has an anchor and a chain attached. t is brass colored mast piece that comes up and holds a brass colored flag at the top. The mast pole also holds the sail of the ship that is made of piece of mother of pearl that has paint decoration. The decoration has flowers and is painted World's columbian Exposition Chicago 1893. The piece is 3 1/2"h X 3" L x 1 1/4"W. The piece is dusty which I have not tried cleaning. The piece has no damage at all. This is an original piece and it would be a fantastic addition to a worlds fair or a sewing collection. Insurance is included in shipping. Besides having the retail shop we also do several select shows a year across the country. We are also in the process of building an online store and we maintain an ebay store. And to make things more interesting we have 2 teenagers who keep us on our toes with sports and other activities and one who is getting married in August. Millie our 15 year old yellow lab spends the days sleeping in our office. We also have Richmond who is a fox red lab puppy who just turned one and is more than eager to greet people and play. Our point is that we are not just a computer somew out in the world that doesn't care about our customers. We actually enjoy meeting those of you who vacation in New Hampshire and stop by the shop to introduce yourselves. Our business is successful because of repeat business and word of mouth and the only way that happens is with honesty and commitment. These are our policies: 1. If you are not happy with an item for any reason you may return the item for a refund of the purchase price. We do not refund the shipping unless we have made a mistake. Items must be returned with in 7 days of receiving the item and we do not pay to get the item shipped back to us unless it is was a mistake on our part. The same item must be returned in the same condition it left in. 2. Our shipping quotes are stated in the auction listing and include a handling fee which covers the cost of materials and labor. We do not ship media mail so please do not ask. Our shipping charges are for US addresses only. If you live in another country please email us before bidding for a shipping quote. 3. Payments are expected to reach us within 7 days of the close of the auction. If we have not received payment within 7 days a non paying bidder notification will be sent. If you are having problems paying for an item or were late in getting the payment mailed please email us to avoid this notification. We accept Pay Pal (pending payments need to clear before shipment will take place), Master Card, Visa and Discover, money orders in US funds, personal checks which still take 7 - 10 days to clear, money orders in US funds and cash if sent requiring a signature. 4. Insurance is required on some of our items and is specified in the listing description. The cost of insurance can not be determined until after the final selling price has been determined.
