Rare original pair of "Coat of Arms of the United States" insignia. Originally worn on the shoulder straps of officers below the grade of colonel. Later changed to be worn by all officers on the collars of dress uniforms. Still later changes also added insignia to dress uniforms of enlisted men. On June 1, 1905 insignia was no longer authorized. This matched pair of insignia have been gilded and evidently designed to be sewn to shoulder straps or collars. Guaranteed 100% authentic. A great item for the collector.
