Rare and beautiful jardinere by Brush- McCoy designed by A.L. Cusick in the1912 Woodland Green pattern in the Scenic Line that measures 7 1/4" tall, 8" widest, 7 1/2" wide at rim and 5 1/2" wide at base. The design is incredible and detailed the woodland scene with a fence and hills in the distance and the rim is encircled with a 1" band of geese in flight with clouds above and below them. WOW! The condition is excellent, NO breaks, cracks, chips, flaking or hairlines! T is crazing and makers flaws, which are all under the glaze, a 5/16" dent, 3/8" by 3/16" extra bit of clay and other less than an 1/8" various bumps and dents. I was fortunate to have handled a Woodland pitcher which was also signed by Cusick, a designer for Brush-McCoy from 1908 to 1946. He signed the first 100 of his designs, which explains the crisp detail! The signature is underglaze and difficult to see, the C and K are quite visible, the rest is a bit of a squiggle, but since I have actually seen his signature I recognized it immediatly. The bottom is only marked with 2?5. Wonderful and rare piece of art pottery that is sure to attract attention when displayed! All white seen in pictures is light reflection only! This weighs in at 4 pounds 13 ounces and boxed weight will be 7 to 8 pounds double boxed. Insurance is included with UPS and is additional 1.65 with read more
