RARE-c1915 ANTIQUE 12K ROSE GOLD FILLED EXPANSION BANGLE BRACELET-40 GM I am so pleased to offer this fabulous Antique 12 Rose Gold Fill Expansion Bracelet withh Green and Yellow gold filled alternating links and a HUGE centerpiece that is a HEART LOCKET inset with a CAMEO and the locket opens to insert loved ones photos ! ... The links have carved BLUEBELLS and t is a whimsical folklore which states : IF YOU SHAKE A BLUEBELL IT WILL CALL THE FAIRIES ! This is FABULOUS LUSTERN piece which has a huge LOCKET that is ONE INCH in size with Repousse work and ornate carvings ....so UNIQUE ! I was informed this is a Cameo of PSYCHE , the Bride of Cupid. It is said that Cupid pricked himself on his own arrow and fell deeply in love with the beautiful mortal Psyche. Zeus gave his permission for the two lovers to be married and Psyche became an immortal. Psyche in Greek means both "soul" and "butterfly" ..and is such a romantic piece THIS WILL FIT A MULTITUDE OF WRISTS FROM 5 1/2" - 8 1/2" HISTORY
It is Circa 1915 by design and styling . It is just in WONDERFUL condition and It looks stunning on the wrist, when being worn it looks like a bangle, but is expansion and so comfortable to wear. These old Lustern gold filled expansion bangles are becoming very hard to come by in this styling. with a SHELL CAMEO... they hold extremely high book prices on antique websites.. DESCRIPTION & STYLING It is stamped inside 12K GF for gold filled and also Sterling..which means this is gold over solid silver rather than a base metal making it a high grade gold fill piece.... but it looks and feels like solid karat gold, and from the beautiful patina you would think it is solid gold.. A Very old and beautiful heirloom indeed. These were known as sweetheart bracelets.. It is in excellent as you would expect with quality antique jewelry.. ...It is also stamped with the makers mark LUSTERN which is a Lustern piece.. Lustern -- LOUIS STERN CO., Providence, RI -- est. 1871 Mark: Wristacrat -- 1924 Makers of chains & silversmiths Wholesalers of chains, bags, watch bracelets, knives, buckles & jewelry Last record found was in 1950. Lustern were reknown for their quality in craftsmanship and these expansion bracelets are highly collectable. THis one is NO exception due to its unique centerpiece . These command extremely high book prices in the mid to upper hundreds The centerpiece is an antique gold color that buttery hue with a hint of rose gold .. and the band is Lusterns signature style with alternating TRUE rose gold fill and green gold fill links ...such a beautiful contrastEach alternate link is detailed with repousse BLUEBELLS .....and the patina is excellent as you would expect with quality antique jewelry.. ...The feel of this bangle is fabulous, it has that ultra smooth look and feel when putting it on, that usually is associated with solid karat gold.. . The locket opens and one side you could store a little memento and the other side has a bezel and the original celluloid insert. This is beautifully constructed and this such a Deco look to it..and gorgeous on...and I was advised it is a Shell Cameo.. but as i do not normally sell Cameos i am unsure but I have taken close ups and this cameo is so detailed and BEAUTIFULLY CARVED and the woman looks real..even her nose is finely carved.. t is no chipping to the Cameo that i can see The band measures just under 5/8" in width..and will fit a multitude of wrist sizes ranging from 5 1/2" up to 8 1/2" due to its expansion.... unexpanded it measures 6" and expands another three inches to accomodate from 5 1/2" up to 8 1/2" wrist. The only fault I can see is that t has been a repair at some time ..and on the inside a couple of the links have denting..but not visible on the outside.. and on two of the outer links you can see w t is a spot of soldering w the repair was done internally..but as it is at the back it again is not visible when being worn.. and it is still extremely strong and the band is not ...
