AUTHENTIC and ORIGINAL 1920's FRENCH ART DECO LAMP by MAX LE VERRIER , " Danseuse á la Coupe ". THIS IS NOT A RECASTING ! It is the SIGNED , FIRST and ORIGINAL CASTING of the stunning Dancing Nude Statue Lamp by the famed Max Le Verrier. The MAX LE VERRIER foundry was created in 1926 in Paris, France, and specialized in original and signed bronze and high quality white metal art deco sculptures through the 1930's. They edited the work of other sculptors such as GUERBE, FAYRAL, BOURAINE, BEQUEREL, JANLE AND MASSON , but the artwork of the master sculptor, Max Le Verrier , is some of the most highly sought out from the period. This is an original, signed, first casting of his 1920's 25" tall Dancer Statue Lamp that he called " Danseuse á la Coupe ". To view this vintage piece on his great grandsonâe(tm)s website, click on the following link: http://mlv75.club.fr/artdecolamps.html CONDITION: The lamp is missing its glass globes and t is no wiring. It has a wiring hole from the bottom back side of the marble which passes through the statue and comes out at the top of the wrist (see photo 10). Rewiring would be no problem, though it looks quite stunning without a light and I have always displayed it that way. The statue lifts out of the marble base for easy wiring. The entire piece measures approximately 25". The statue part measures approximately 18" tall and 9" wide at the hands. T is an Egyptian look to the arm and leg bands, though she seems to be some type of warrior or tribe woman. The statue is nude except for a loin-cloth and belt. It is signed on the base " M. Le Verrier ". Her left wrist has been repaired (see photo 11). As a result, t is a slight 3/16" difference in height on that side. The repair is very stable and not noticeable in display. Other than the one repair, the statue is Near Mint! It has almost all of its dark green patina paint with only a few very small rubs, one in the middle of the back, a smaller one on the back of the lower leg, and a couple of tiny scratches, mentioned only for accuracy. The lamp globe ring is very slightly bent. The dark green marble base measures 4 1/4" square and 6 3/4" tall. It has a shallow chip on the edge in front of the toes, but the color of the marble makes the damage almost disappear (see photo 8). It also has a chip on the bottom side edge and smaller bottom corner chips, but these do not affect the display quality of the piece (see photos 3 through 6). NOTE: This Lamp is extremely heavy. The marble base alone weighs 12 pounds! The entire Lamp weighs 20 pounds. Visit Max Le Verrierâe(tm)s great grandsonâe(tm)s website to see more of Le Verrier's exquisite artwork, plus others who produced art in his foundry, as well as see the history of this Master of the 1920's French Art Deco movement. (http://mlv75.club.fr/homepage.html) This is a fantastic piece of artwork, whether you intend to restore it to work as a lamp, or just display it as a statue. LeVerrier's work has often been compared to Frankart, but his art pieces were not produced in the hundreds. Each one was hand-made by the Artist himself. Then each piece was signed, making them extremely rare one-of-a-kind collectibles! Even later recastings of this Lamp sell in the thousands! Not often does the opportunity come along to own an Authentic 1920's Signed French Art Deco Max LeVerrier Lamp ! This Stunning Antique Lamp/Statue is offered at NO RESERVE and * FREE SHIPPING with INSURANCE INCLUDED! *Lower US 48 States Only.
