These are very rare bookends, especially in this prized finish, that of olive tinged verdigris bronze in excellent condition, really no finish loss at all. These are the highly collectible Nuart racing bookends. Each one shows a race at the finish line, with 3 jockeys on three separate horses almost neck and neck, one is ahead by half half a length. These are clearly signed with the Nuart logo and name on the back of each one. They measure 5 and a half inches tall by the same long and weigh 5 pounds the pair. These are circa 1925, art deco in origin and style, and absolutely guaranteed old, genuine and original. One of the jockeys on one bookend, the jockeys in the back, has had damage to his neck, looks like a fracture and some glue applied and is perfectly stable now but should be mentioned. I tried to get pictures of it but t is really not much to see. Check pictures 2 and 9 to see what I am saying. But such a rare set and display beautifully. Thanks for looking and please see my other auctions for more antique and vintage cast metal bookends and doorstops that I will combine on shipping whenever possible.
