Rare 1940s Mazda Snow White Disney Lights Disneylights

Disney Christmas lights were produced for a number of the famous Disney characters in the 1930s and 1940s. I believe that the first set to be released however was the Mickey Mouse Silly Symphonies in 1937. The Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs set was produced soon afterwards and is rarely seen. The lights were produced in the US by the Noma Light Company. In the UK the sets were distributed by the British Thomas-Houston Coy. Ltd known as Mazda. The set consisted of 12 early plastic lights with bakelite lamp holders. Each shade had a transfer of characters and scenes from the film.. The set to be auctioned is not perfect. The box appears to have been crushed at one corner at some time in the past resulting in 2 shades becoming broken and another cracked. The flex is the original fabric covered and all of the lamps still have their wooden beads to hold them on the tree. The flex still has its bakelite lamp plug. The box is in quite good condition for its age (apart from the squashed corner). It has good colour although t are splits at 3 corners of the lid and one of the base. This is a very rare item of Disneyana, even rarer to be available to the US as it was originally distributed for use on UK voltage.....A great collectors' item! The postage quoted on the listing is for airmail from the UK to the US (t will be a refund if postage is lower on packing). Internal postage to the UK will be $10.00 (£5.00) by first class mail.
