This auction is for a rare, original , 1944 edition offrontline WWII German War Artist Hans Liska's "Mein Skizzenbuch" or "My Sketch Book" Hans Liska was actually classified as a frontline war reporter, but his war art illustrations became so popular in Germany that they were published at least three times; .in 1942, 1943, and this example, printed in 1944. To my knowledge, this scarce 1944 printing of his work was the last edition produced before the end of the war. This book measure approximately 8 x 11 3/4 inches, with around 60 image pages.
On the majority of the pages, the image takes up the entire page! Below are some examples of the excellent art work inside..... This rare book is in top condition for its age, and the quality is excellent, especially for a late war printing. The binding is tight, and the picture pages are clean.
