Ebay a little boring lately? Didn't get what you REALLY wanted for Christmas?? ...... OR just looking for that perfect addition to your collection ? ...... Well you've stopped by the right place! Offered for auction is an unusual antique European late 1700s early 1800s enamel on porcelain miniature painting in an ornate Berlin Iron frame. The portrait is lovely and shows a woman clad in a Grecian draped garment holding a bird. The background is a soft shade of rosy pink at the top and ocher at the bottom. The foliage is a dark brown almost sepia tone. It is hand painted.... you can see the brush strokes, and is very old, possibly Italian in origin. The frame looks brass in the photos, but it is blackish metal, not brass. The bottom edge of the frame is purposely flat to sit upright, the original easel is still attatched. It measures 2" x 1 3/4" and would make an unusual pedant or brooch. This is a very charming, unusual and unique piece sure to please any miniature collector!
