We are pleased to offer this exceptionally fine sculpture of a Chinese immortal seated on a foo dog. The sculpture is carved from rosewood, and is absolutely fantastic. This piece dates to the mid 1800's. The figure is holding a chain. Thre is a remnant of a metal ring in his right hand. It appears something may have hung from it. The carving on this sculpture is absolutely stunning. The imortal has glass eyes, and the top of the smoke or cloud behind him is removeable. The rest of the sculpture is entirely carved from one solid piece of rosewood. T are a couple of age cracks, but in every other way this piece is in excellent condition. It is very impressive, and would be a great addition to any collection of Asian antiques. The statue measures 26" high X 10 1/2" wide X 6" deep.
