Perhaps of theceremonial services, this variation of the Indian shaft-weapon is quite uncommon, being a sort of a percussion weapon with a strong striking edge and very thick head fully capable of delivering deadly blows if needed, one horn is missing from the Gazelle head, heavy wear to the silver inlays all around although the ornaments are still distinguishable throughout head and the 5 section shaft, the head is slightly loose, shaft is solid. Very odd piece, measuring 26 ½" overall, similar example is featured in A. Tirri book of Islamic Arms and Armor.
