This is one of three rare Kachina dolls that we have currently listed that were a gift from the famous Taos artist Joseph Henry Sharp to his good friend the Hollywood actor Christian Rub whose descendants lived in the islands. Totally out of our area of expertise, the dolls are pure and untouched with original paint and patina and we were told by a family member that they were carved of cottonwood. Size is 9 1/4" height. This item has an amazing presence and history, we are listing it like all of our auctions without any reserve so good luck. The provenance will be given to the winning bidder on our letterhead if so desired. Very careful packing, shipping and delivery confirmation by priority mail will be $9.00 in the U.S. International shipping will depend on destination.
