Up for grabs is this Antique Cut Glass Bowl in a Square Sided Form Russian Pattern In Great condition just a couple of small corner flakes that are flat (see pics) and no use marks on the inside bottom of the bowl. This is an early piece with no makers mark 8 pounds in weight top is 9" x 9" and approx 4 1/2" tall Great for the collector or if you are looking for that one of a kind gift this could be it ........ From American Cut Glass For the Discriminating Collector by Michael and Dorothy Pearson : This pattern was designed by Philip MacDonald a cutter for Thomas G. Hawkes it was Patented June 20, 1882 Patent Number 12982 and assigned to his employer This design was chosen for the complete banquet service to be cut for the Russian Embassy in Washington D.C. and has been known as the Russian Pattern ever since it won wide and popular acceptance it was later discontinued and replaced by a less costly service ............
