*Hello and Welcome to my Site! *For those of you new to my Site I offer an array of Outstanding Antique Quilts and Quilt Tops, with emphasis on African American Textiles, acquired from the Tri-State area of Texas, Louisiana, and Arkansas *My Quilts are acquired from Old Anglo and African American Estates in the area, that I handle for Attorneys that Probate Wills. I try my best, when available, to share with you, any history and information I have on each Quilt. *This auction is for a RARE TO FIND, SPECTACULAR, Folk Art, African American, Caddo Parrish, TWO-SIDED, Housetop, Quilt *This is the most Incredible Old African American Made Quilt! *Acquired from an Old Estate I cleared in Caddo Parrish, Louisiana, and Folk Art at it's BEST! *I was told by the Heirs, that the reason t is one block in the Quilt that is different than all the rest, was that t was symbolism in that. When I asked the reason, the African American Heir told me that this was symbolic of 'Nobodys Perfect'...amazing story! *This is truly a piece of ART and a MOST UNUSUAL Quilt. It is a MUST-HAVE for your collection! You will never see another like this one! *Circa 1940's-50's *Measurements: 71" x 81" *Colors: Assorted *Fabric: Old Cottons *Machine Pieced and Hand Quilted with large primitive hand stitches *This Quilt is VERY unusual, using many many scraps of fabrics, string pieced together with what the lady had available at the time. The intricateness of the piecing and the design, make this Quilt an excellent Folk Art African American example!! *This is an AMAZING, Quilt! It is a TWO-SIDED Quilt!! *SPECTACULAR Find!! *Condition: I would consider this Quilt in Very Good Antique Condition, and a GREAT piece of Old African American Folk Art made by an Old African American woman!! This has been stored and preserved and was cherished by the Maker. The Heirs are regretfully needing to sell to satisfy Estate Expenses. *This would be OUTSTANDING Framed and Displayed, used on your favorite bed, tossed over a chair...it is a work of ART! Certainly a great example of African American Folk Art Textile History! *This Quilt has an Appraised Value of $2000, so we are offering at a real buy!
