Two years ago a woman that does contract work for my firm saw part of my sports collection in my law office. She commented that her late husband had spent most of his adult life as a collector, but died many years ago. I eventually accepted an invitation to take a look at this memorabillia. This collection was still setting in stacks, untouched, as it had for many years. I was astonished to find the most extensive accumulation of signed sports items I had ever seen. Long before Sharpie pens, Upper Deck Authenticated UDA, Score Board and Tri-Star shows, this man was collecting the signatures of the greatest of the game and from obscure players that only a true fan of a given team would have heard of. Most of these items were signed twenty to thirty years ago, or more. He corresponded with and befriended old timers and HOF ers during his travels for his job. He knocked on doors and visited them in rest homes. He knew many of these players personally, and recieved autographs in person and collected others by mail and from the highly reliable of sources. Unfortunately he passed away in the 1980's leaving this wonderful collection. This collection has rare hall of famers, 300 game winners, Cy Young pitchers and members of the 500 Home run club. As described above, I did not get this item signed in person, but as with all items I sell, I personally stand behind the authenticity of this item with a full bid price guarantee for 180 days. If ever dissatisfied with the item, return it to me within six months of the end of the auction, with proof of the winning bid (i.e. the receipt that will accompany this purchase, canceled check, etc. as no specific COA will be issued unless specifically requested by the winning bidder) with the item in the same or similar condition when sold, and a prompt refund of the winning bid price will be made.
