Very Rare Ancient Medieval Silver with Gold Ring Beautiful Natural Turquoise Center Stone Large US Size 12 Ring Circa: 1000 - 1650AD This is a Very Rare Ancient Medieval era solid Silver with Gold ring. Ring has a Beautiful Original Natural Turquoise Center Stone . Stone is fully intact and does not have any chips or cracks. Both sides of band have hand crafted designs which add balance and beauty to the ring. The Ring's band was created by Ancient Hand Craftsmanship of folding the band on each side, then hammering the band edges flat, with the folded parts of the band towards the inside of the band. The seam from the fold is visible on the inside of the band, as displayed in the pictures. The band was then rounded, and each end was melded to the bezel using the same silver and gold mixture as the ring was created from. With this type of band creation and design, the ring is not as heavy as a solid rounded band, but the band is very firm, strong and durable. This ring is of a beautiful and solid design, and is in Excellent Condition considering the extensive age of this rare piece of treasure with only expected wear from age. Ring is at least 350+ years old. Much of the ring has been professionally cleaned to restore, and display it's original brilliance, beauty and detail. The ring can use more polishing, and i f the new owner so desires further polishing, they may use moderate amounts of silver cream and a soft damp cloth, or soft bristle toothbrush, which will further enhance the ring's full luster and beauty! The Ring's band has been chemically tested, and results showed this ring does contain low levels of Gold when tested at 10k. Ring's Gold karat is much less than 10k, and with this particular ring, it contains more silver than gold, but some level of gold is evident in testing and appearance. In Medieval times they did not have the karat system when creating more solid and durable gold items which were generally a mixture of Gold, Silver and Bronze. This Ring appears to have been constructed from Gold and Silver only, and without Bronze. Without the bronze, the Ring will not have the strong dominant gold tone such as with high karat gold. This Ring has a low gold tone, even without the use of bronze to enhance the gold appearance. The level of gold tone is more and less dominant depending on lighting conditions. In florescent lighting, the gold tone is very dominant, in incandescent lighting, the gold tone may be less dominant. The displayed pictures were taken under florescent lighting and the gold tone in pictures do appear more dominant than the actual ring's gold tone. Pictures are exactly as I took them, and I never alter the pictures to enhance the color. The winner can also verify gold content by placing a piece of silver next to the Ring. The gold tone level dominates quite vividly, or of course you may have the Ring professionally chemically tested with 10k acid for "very low gold value less than 10k".
