I have two of these vases up for auction. They are really quite unusual and I do not know their origen, but they were bought in Japan in the 1920's. They stand about 4" tall and are about 3 1/2" in diameter at their widest part. They are hand-painted and so are slightly different. The design is quite intricate. The main colors are a shiny royal blue and a soft turquoise matte with yellowish tones. The flowers are a sort of raised bubble glass in pale pink and green. The gold has a lovely raised relief disign. The botton reads "U.S. Patent NBR 912171 Feb. 9. 1909" plus some Japanese writing that I cannot read. If anyone knows the significance of this, even though you do not wish to bid, I would appreciate knowing more about this. Thanks! I will ship insured immediately upon receipt of payment and will consolidate shipping for anyone who wins both bids. Thank you.
