Absolutely stunning, Shepherd with horn and knapsack from the Kuolt 6 inch line. This is item # 79700/18. Figure has partial older Anri green sticker on bottom with red writing as seen. This is an older nativity figure. These are all handcarved wood figures and hand painted. These are heirloom quality pieces and in my personal opinion, the Kuolt 6 inch line is the best of the best. Figure is in perfect condition. I know a picture speaks a thousand words but sometimes the pictures don't do these figures justice...you really have to see them in person to truly appreciate the craftsmanship that went into these unique pieces of art. A little on Professor Kuolt: Born on April 3, 1879 in Spaichingen Germany, he was a student at the Munich School of Art and then from 1910 thru 1914 at the Munich Academy. In addition to creating a large number of well known monuments and memorial chapels throughout Southern Germany, he created countless smaller works which are now possessed by museums and private collectors. The world-famous crib figurines bearing his name are an example of his art. The Karl Kuolt nativity was introduced in 1955. Since then over 98 nativity pieces to this set have been produced.
